As we consign 2020 to the proverbial dustbin, it is worth looking back and reflecting on some of the good things that have come out of it. First, there has been a growing sense of community with many unselfish acts of help and support from the many volunteers who have stepped up to the plate to help and provide comfort. And that is before we mention the community spirited clap for the NHS and carers.Secondly, people are being more friendly, that wave, the nod of the head and the joy of a simple hello. It has all been there and what a difference it has made. Then we have the outpouring of thankfulness and we have much to be thankful for, especially the key workers, the cherished nurses and doctors, paramedics, policemen, firemen, care workers, teachers, supermarket workers and refuse collectors and so many more. Then there are the fundraisers, from the brilliant Captain Tom to the many others that have cycled, run, walked, swam, baked, sung and…….. Finally, there is the global collaboration and co-operation that has delivered an army of vaccines that brings so much hope and optimism to 2021.A thread running through all of this is kindness and we at TheBoldAge believe that harnessing the good in 2020 gives us much to look forwards to in 2021.
