In 1948 the Honda Motor Company was founded; in 1952 the first KFC franchise opened in the US; in 2019 POTUS 45 impeachment inquiry was initiated. In 1853 the first provincial newspaper in England was published - the Northern Daily Times in Liverpool
Based in Liverpool the Northern Daily Times was the first daily newspaper in England to be run outside of London. It went through two changes of title and had its last run in 1861. It changed its name to the Northern Times in 1857.
In 1859 daily sales of 11,887 were reported.
The British Newspaper Archive research shows that they coverd local topics such as the docks and other manufacturing issues. In 1859 it was sold to Thomas Ramsay who turned it into a Conservative paper. It was sold again in 1860 who renamed it to the Daily Times but was unable to make money from it so closed it in 1861.
