We all know that running is good for your physical and mental health. It helps to strengthen bones, builds strong muscles, and burns plenty of calories, as well as reducing stress levels. But, there are also some other positive benefits that may not be so obvious.

Those people that run on a regular basis have reported that they have more energy than they used to. It’s as if there are more hours in the day, that period pf time when your output slumps due to tiredness is no longer present. You have more energy throughout the day, allowing you to achieve more in the workplace and at home.

Running can give you more time. That may sound odd initially as it takes time out of your day. That is true, but you can also make use of that time, many runners choose to listen to podcasts or audio books whilst they run. Expanding your knowledge whilst improving your health is a great use of time.

Running regularly can also boost your self-confidence and your mood. It can help you lose weight and tone up, but more importantly it can help you to feel comfortable in your own skin. This self-confidence can impact on all areas of your life.

It can improve your local knowledge. Runners are always planning new routes around their local area. As a result, you can happen across a variety of hidden paths and trails that you were completely unaware of. Exploring your local area can be great fun.

Finally, runners always acknowledge other runners, a nod of the head can express a shared understanding of the pain and joy you experience. It as if you all belong to one large club, it can help give you a sense of belonging.
